Applying for Swiss student visas

  • Visa application form C (also known as the Schengen visa) – for stays in the Schengen area lasting no longer than 90 days over a period of six months (for tourist or visiting purposes, for instance). Only citizens of certain countries can obtain a visa for these stays.
  • Click here to find out the requirements for your country of origin.
  • National visa application form D – for stays longer than three months.

Complete the form and submit it to the Swiss embassy or consulate in your country. You will be asked to produce several supporting documents to enclose with your visa application. Make sure you submit the application in good time as the procedure may take several months. A visa costs an average of EUR 60 and processing fees may also be charged in addition to this.
